Hi all, I may be looking into starting one of the threee mentioned combat sports but I don’t know which one to pick. Could someone please share their experiences with each of them and try to help me narrow down which one to start.

Try all of them, see which one you like.

This. Also see which ones are available to you and fit into your schedule.

Do you have any links to the places you're thinking of training at? You don't have to share them if you don't want people to know about your location.

There is literally zero point in doing this academically. All those martial arts are good, so if they are all viable options, just go and try them all and find out what suits you.

In addition it's apparently only these three options, so going there and trying it out seems to be way more logical, compared to asking strangers.

If we're telling you to do BJJ and you doesn't like the style or the people there - would you really keep going there, because people you never met told you to?

Go, try, stay (where you like it) - easy as that!

I've done all of these, and enjoyed BJJ the best. But that's based entirely on my own preferences - the folks telling you to trust your instincts and go where YOU like are entirely accurate.

Boxing (Western)! But then again I'm biased...Have you even considered Muay Thai? It's pretty well rounded art!

I've done all of these, though boxing only a very tiny bit. All are good.

Muay Thai has a lot of different strikes.

Boxing generally does more footwork than Muay Thai, with a smaller number of strikes to learn and work on.

BJJ is a whole different beast.

I think no one else can give you better advice then this.

If I had the ability to, I would do all!
If you have to choose one, then check each school out; you'll often find you can get a trial lesson.

The only real advice is try all 3.

But otherwise, if you like punching, box. If you like grappling on the floor, BJJ. If you like throwing people and some grappling on the floor, do judo. :)

The answer depends on your goals. What are you training for? Like others said, try 'em all and see which you like.

Ah sorry I somehow read Judo as Muay Thai.

I personally like both grappling & striking, though they are quite a different experience to train in. You'll have to try out the classes, as others have said, and see what appeals to you.
Training in BJJ or Judo is a very different experience (for me at least) than training in boxing or Muay Thai.

Most big BJJ schools, also run Judo, wrestling, kickboxing and MMA classes.

Aside from that it depends on what you enjoy and your physical state, BJJ is the least demanding of the choices, but its still physically demanding!

I would suggest you check out an MMA gym. Then you will be exposed to all of them.

Never mind sports like these, try a proper street fighting art like wing chun.

Just kidding. I’ll get my coat ...

As others have said, try all three and find out which you enjoy most.
