Feel free to check out our I Liq Chuan group, it’s a mix of several internal (Ba Gua and Xing Yi) and other styles, mostly martial orientated training with a lot of two person drills, cooperative and not.

If interested, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with our group leader, training is free for the time being, usually once or twice a week for 2 hours each.

Interesting Embra, I trained with Chris for a while, but only the Hun Yuan stuff… He’s a good guy, but I found the training lacked the level of martial aspects I was looking for.

Don't know the Hun Yuan stuff - no idea what this is. I only know Chris's protege in Scotland Craig Wilson, and my exposure so far is pretty limited.

I did a few classes in Gao Baguazhang in France a few years ago. In Scotland we have something of a dearth of IMA beyond Wudang Taijiquan - where we have Ian Cameron and Dan Docherty's students to train with. There is some other TCC up here which may or not be martial - but I don't know, e.g. Bob Lowey, Ronnie Robinson and some Chen dudes

There was a fellow 'wee' Danny Docherty (not Dan Docherty) teaching Gao Baguazhang, but he stopped after severe illness.

Do you have any videos or anything that would give me a better idea of what I Liq Chuan is? I found a site on Google and some guy just sat there talking about meta physics and meta cognition.

Haha.. yeah, there's a philosophical aspect too.

Here's a small selection of vids, there are loads online. If you want to see something specific, feel free to ask.

Hmmmm. I've got a lot of stuff I want to check out (seriously, loads) so I'll see where I am then and might look into it. The grading and the syllabus seem interesting. :D
